Mid-week Afternoon Tea

On Wednesday 6th September, on one of this summer’s few very hot days, Area 33 took a trip out to the Merrymeade Tea Rooms in Brentwood for an afternoon tea. The beautiful vintage tearooms are situated in the grounds of Merrymeade House, adjacent to Merrymeade Country Park.

Eighteen members attended and we had our own private dining area in the library, with views looking out over the grounds. The staff were very welcoming. The food was plentiful and tea and coffee was constantly refilled, – without us having to ask! Plenty of parking was also available in the grounds.

It was good to see one of our new members attend, namely Peter White with his wife, and also a couple of long term members who we hadn’t seen for a while, Mike and Sue Palmer. It was a very pleasant afternoon with very good company and a venue which I will definitely return to in the future.
