Little Baddow Open Gardens

After a few days leading up to this event with regards to the weather and the promise of intermittent rain we woke up to a reasonably clear day with the sun trying to break through.

Out came my MkIX for a relatively short run to Little Baddow. We arrived in plenty of time and were marshalled to our designated Club pitch on the grass. Due to the recent rain and the grassed lawns having a slight slope downwards I found myself with the rear wheels spinning as I turned tightly. Luckily with the help of some extras bodies I had a push and got traction.

With nine of our members’ cars attending we had good support.

We also enlisted our support vehicle courtesy of Lauren Cook in case we needed assistance being towed off using the four wheel drive.

As the day progressed the weather got better and the ground started to dry out making it easier to leave when the time arose.

Although the house wasn’t open to the public there was access throughout the grounds where beautiful displays of the rhododendrons were in full bloom.

A very enjoyable relaxing day. Mini buses were laid on free of charge which took people to various gardens and attractions in and around the village. Food and drink was available at the village hall and the two pubs.
