August’s Club Night was a well attended success. We were entertained and educated by Firefighter Gary, who spoke for well over an hour of his experiences and observations of our modern Fire Service. I’m sure we’ll invite him back again at some time in the future.
We also enjoyed a delicious BBQ with Burgers, Bangers & Chicken expertly provided by The Crown, all in all a lovely evening.
The following Saturday we had our event, “Jags on the Green” held on the land adjacent to The Crown. The weather was excellent and notwithstanding some initial interference from a nosey neighbour we all had an excellent time. Once again, food was provided by The Crown, this time a lovely Afternoon Tea of Sandwiches, Cakes, Scones with Jam & Cream. (Or should it be Cream then Jam?)
We would like to thank Charlotte and her team for looking after us so well, providing such delicious food that was enjoyed by us all.
Last Weekend we attended the Lavenham Car Show which again was a well attended popular event. We were joined by a couple of members from Area 29 after some of us met up first thing at the pub where they hold their monthly meetings.
We were greeted with the smell of grilled bacon rolls that were gratefully received throughout the day. I make no apology for taking the last Mr Whippy ice cream before the machine broke down!
We were told initially that this may be the last year the car show is held here. However, later in the day the Marshall’s indicated there may be a change of heart, so let’s keep our fingers crossed.
